Welcome to Redheaded Monkeys Bling and Ink!
I know what you’re thinking… what’s with the funky name? I started Redheaded Monkeys in late 2010 as a way to avoid going back to working 50-60 hour weeks as a computer network administrator. I wanted to be here to put my children on the bus every morning, and greet them as they disembarked every afternoon. That’s where my name and my inspiration comes from, my three little redheaded monkeys. Before I recommend a design, a shirt to put it on, or the material with which I make the art, I ask myself a few questions. Would I want my kids wearing this? Would my son/daughter be caught dead wearing it? Will they refuse to admit I’m related to them if I wear it? If it has to be babied in the washing machine, do I have time for that mess? (No, I don’t) As a mom with young kids, I am mindful of the fact that every shirt I make is going to be worn by a kid or their parent who wants to look their best, sold by a PTA or booster club to fund projects for the kids, and bought by parents who really want to support their school/team but may not have unlimited resources to do so. I also believe every kid that walks on a field, into a gym, or up on a stage should feel like they have their own personal fan club. That’s why I love what I do.
